Regrade Project

KLI’s Post Closure Maintenance Re-grading Project involves the importation and grading of select fill materials. Re-grading portions of KLI’s final cover is necessary to preserve and maintain the Caps functionality in connection with its post closure care activities and to maintain adequate drainage and surface water run off as part of KLI’s NJDEP’s approved Post Closure maintenance program and to develop a Beneficial End Use for the facility.  Fill materials must be tested and approved prior to acceptance and be below the NJDEP’s Non-Residential Direct Contact Soil Remediation Standards (NRDCSRS) and or KLI’s Site Specific materials. To accomplish this, materials, including but not limited to beneficial re-use materials from various sources will be imported into the landfill to be used to re-grade the final cover.
